Ir. Migni Myriasandra Noerhadi, MIP, MSEL: Committed To Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Continuous Improvement In Business Practices, With A Vision To Shape The Future Of Intellectual Property Rights In Indonesia
Born in Bandung, Ir. Migni Myriasandra Noerhadi is the daughter of Prof. Dr. Toeti Heraty and the granddaughter of Prof. Dr. Ir. Roosseno. She graduated in 1985 from the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
Her passion for Intellectual Property (IP) law began early in her career. In 1993, she completed an Intellectual Property course organized by the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia and the Directorate General of Copyright, Patent, and Trademark at the Department of Justice. She later pursued a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property (MIP) from Franklin Pierce Law Center, Concord, New Hampshire, USA, in 1994. Additionally, she obtained a Master’s degree in Environmental Law (MSEL) from Vermont Law School, South Royalton, USA.
Following her graduation from Franklin Pierce Law Center, Migni undertook practical training at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, and EG & G, Inc. in Wellesley, Massachusetts, USA, in 1994. Committed to expanding her expertise, she later attended specialized courses in Intellectual Property at the Japan Institute of Innovation and Invention (JIII) in Tokyo and the Indonesia-Australia Specialized Training Project in 1996. Her growing influence in the IP field led her to become one of the panelists at the APEC/ABAC Joint Symposium on Intellectual Property in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1999.
Current Roles & Professional Affiliations
Migni currently serves as the Director and IP Consultant of Biro Oktroi Roosseno, one of Indonesia’s most respected intellectual property firms. Under her leadership, the firm has achieved significant milestones, including obtaining ISO 9001 certification and working towards additional certifications such as ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, and ISO 37001.
She is also Vice President of AIPPI Indonesia Group 2023 - 2026 (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle) and Member of Internal Expert Team of AKHKI (Indonesian Intellectual Property Consultants Association) for period of 2024-2028, demonstrating her active role in shaping Indonesia’s IP regulatory and professional landscape.
