Darwin Cyril Noerhadi: A Visionary in Investment and Strategic Management
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Dr. Noerhadi has played a crucial role in shaping Indonesia’s capital markets and investment ecosystem, with a career spanning leadership roles in both the public and private sectors. He is a distinguished figure in Indonesia’s financial and investment landscape, known for his strategic leadership and deep expertise in corporate finance.
His academic journey reflects a strong foundation in science and finance. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Geology from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 1985, before pursuing an MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Houston in 1988. His passion for strategic thinking and investment decision making led him to complete a Doctorate in Strategic Management from the University of Indonesia in 2013, graduating with cum laude distinction.
Dr. Noerhadi’s career began in the financial sector, where he quickly established himself as a key player. From 1996 to 1999, he served as the President Director of the Jakarta Stock Exchange, a period that marked significant advancements in Indonesia’s financial market. Following this, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers Indonesia as a Partner in Corporate Finance, where he provided advisory services on mergers, acquisitions, and investment strategies from 1999 to 2005.
His expertise in finance and investment was further recognized when he was appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk from 2005 to 2011. In this role, he oversaw financial operations during a critical expansion phase of the company, one of Indonesia’s leading energy firms.
In 2011, Dr. Noerhadi founded Creador Indonesia, a private equity firm focusing on strategic investments in South and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Malaysia, India, the Philippines and Vietnam. As Chairman, he has been instrumental in steering the firm’s investment strategies, fostering business growth, and contributing to economic development across the region. His expertise in capital markets and investment also led to his appointment as an Independent Member of the Supervisory Board at the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), the first Indonesia sovereign wealth fund of Indonesia, where he plays a critical role in ensuring sustainable investment policies and governance.
Beyond his work in finance, Dr. Noerhadi holds key positions in several major corporations. He currently serves as an Independent Commissioner at Data Center Infrastructure Indonesia Tbk and as a Commissioner at PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk, bringing strategic insights to these companies. Previously, he also held the position of Commissioner (Independent) at PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk and President Commissioner (Independent) at PT Mandiri Sekuritas, guiding one of Indonesia’s top financial firms in its corporate strategy and governance.
Dr. Noerhadi’s contributions extend beyond investment and finance. He is deeply involved in intellectual property protection and innovation in Indonesia, serving as a business strategy and investment advisor at Biro Oktroi Roosseno, one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious intellectual property firms. This role reflects his family’s legacy in fostering innovation—Biro Oktroi Roosseno was founded by his grandfather, Prof. Dr. Ir. R. Roosseno Soerjohadikoesoemo, a pioneering Indonesian engineer.
